Frequently asked questions

Fares, deposits, waiting time, the border and everything else you ask before booking.

General questions

Published one-way fares start at $90 USD from San Ysidro to Tijuana and $105 USD from San Diego, including the airport, for the patient plus one companion. Premium Medical Transportation, which includes the Medical Lane pass on the northbound return, starts at $120 USD one way. Round trips and group quotes are on our rates page.

The published fare covers the patient plus one companion in a private vehicle — nobody else is added to your trip. For three or more passengers call +1 (619) 752-0681 or +52 (663) 324-9475 and we will quote the group rate before you book.

As early as you have your appointment. The booking calendar accepts reservations up to six months ahead, and early-morning surgery windows fill first. Same-day requests are handled through WhatsApp whenever a unit is available.

No. A 50% deposit is charged securely online to reserve the vehicle and the driver; the remaining balance is settled once the service is completed. The full amount must be cleared before the transport begins.

Southbound into Tijuana is usually minutes. Northbound is the slow direction: the regular lane includes one hour of waiting in the fare, and additional waiting is charged at $15 USD per hour. The Medical Lane pass, included in Premium Medical Transportation, shortens that wait dramatically.

Tell dispatch as soon as you know. We track flights and we hold a 30-minute courtesy wait at every pickup. Beyond that, waiting is billed at $15 USD per additional 30 minutes, and if another reservation is already scheduled that client takes priority.

Yes, through our Pet-Friendly Private Transportation service, which is dispatched with the Premium vehicle. The pet must travel in a carrier or secured with a harness, be clean and healthy, and an extra fee applies by size: $35 USD small, $45 USD medium, $55 USD large. Pets are not allowed in a standard reservation for hygiene reasons.

Transport runs Monday to Saturday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Outside those hours we still take you, but only by reservation and with an additional $40 USD. Dispatch itself answers WhatsApp, text messages and calls 24/7. The surcharge is disclosed before you confirm, never added afterwards.

Cancelling more than 72 hours before the service carries a 50% charge of the amount paid; cancelling with less than 72 hours' notice, or not showing up, forfeits 100% of the deposit. One free date or time change is allowed if requested at least 48 hours ahead. Refunds are processed within 5 to 7 business days.

Yes. We serve clinics, hospitals, recovery houses, hotels, laboratories and imaging centres across Zona Río, Otay, Playas, Chapultepec, Agua Caliente and the rest of the city, plus the Tijuana City Service for short trips inside town at $20 USD one way.

San Diego International (SAN), Cross Border Xpress (CBX) and Tijuana International (TIJ), plus pickups anywhere in San Diego County. For Los Angeles, Ontario or Palm Springs, contact dispatch for a custom quote.

Every driver and every dispatcher is bilingual. Your reservation, your confirmation and your trip can be handled entirely in English or entirely in Spanish.

Premium Medical Transportation

Premium is a comfortable private transfer in the same class of vehicle. Premium Medical adds priority scheduling, extra care on the pickup and drop-off, and the Medical Lane pass on the northbound crossing. If the passenger has just had a procedure, the medical option is the one that matters.

Yes, within reason. Our drivers assist with balance, luggage, seat belts, walkers and crutches. They are not licensed medical personnel and cannot lift a patient who cannot bear their own weight, so if you need stretcher or ambulance transport, tell dispatch when you book and we will point you to the right provider.

Yes, and most of our reservations are booked by a family member or by the clinic's coordinator. Give us the patient's name, both addresses and a phone number that will be answered on the day, and we handle the rest.

It is included on the routes marked with the pass on our rates page, which are the ones where the northbound wait is the issue. Southbound travel into Tijuana does not need it.

Airport Transfers

Nothing, as long as we have the flight number. Dispatch tracks the aircraft and moves the driver's window automatically. Airline delays do not trigger the waiting charge — that applies to a passenger who is late, not to an aircraft that is.

At the arrivals level door of your terminal, with a sign showing your name. Dispatch texts you the driver's name, phone number and vehicle description before you land, so you can also call directly once you have signal.

Yes, in both directions. CBX is often the smarter option for a patient flying domestically inside Mexico, and we time the pickup around the bridge ticket window so you are not standing in the terminal with luggage longer than necessary.

Yes, and we recommend booking it as one service. Give us the appointment time and the clinic address at the moment of booking, and we plan the terminal, the crossing and the clinic arrival as a single chain.

Clinic & Hospital Transfers

Very likely. We serve the surgical centres, dental clinics, hospitals and specialty practices across Zona Río, Chapultepec, Otay, Agua Caliente and Playas. Give us the clinic name and the address when you book and dispatch confirms the exact entrance before your date.

For short consultations, book a round trip and tell us the expected duration; for procedures that run several hours, a round trip with a scheduled return is cheaper and more comfortable than paid waiting. Dispatch will tell you which one fits.

Yes. Many Tijuana clinics book directly with our dispatch for their patients. The confirmation goes to both the coordinator and the patient so nobody is guessing on the morning of the procedure.

Message dispatch on WhatsApp as soon as you know. We reassign the return window whenever a unit is available, and there is no charge for moving a return that has not yet been dispatched.

Recovery House Transfers

Yes. We serve recovery houses throughout the city — Otay, Zona Río, Chapultepec, Agua Caliente, Playas and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Give us the exact address and any gate instructions at booking.

The Tijuana City Service is $20 USD one way and $40 USD round trip for the patient plus one companion. It covers clinic visits, laboratories, imaging centres, pharmacies and hotels inside the city.

Yes, and we recommend it. Send dispatch your appointment schedule and we will confirm every movement, including the final crossing, as one coordinated plan with a single point of contact.

The Toyota Sienna is the reason patients book us for that specific trip: low step-in, wide sliding door, a seat that reclines and suspension that does not transmit every pothole. For the day of the procedure, book the Premium Medical service.

Medical & Dental Appointments

A round trip is cheaper and it guarantees the return unit. Book two separate one-ways only when the dates are different or when the return time is genuinely unknown.

Ask the clinic for an estimated finish time and give us a return window rather than an exact minute. Dispatch is reachable by WhatsApp all day, so we can move the return forward or back while you are still in the chair.

Yes. Multi-stop days — dental clinic, laboratory, pharmacy — are booked as one reservation with the stops listed. The Tijuana City Service covers the movements inside town at $20 USD each.

Yes. Every passenger needs valid travel documents for both crossings, and the driver cannot cross a passenger who does not have them. Check your documents before the day of the trip, not at the gate.

Laboratory & Imaging Transportation

Yes, every day. Early pickups are routine for us. Reservations before 6:00 AM carry the $40 USD night-service charge, which is disclosed before you confirm.

For short waits, yes — tell dispatch the expected duration when you book. For anything over an hour it is usually cheaper to book a scheduled return, and we will tell you which option costs less.

List every stop when you book. Multi-stop days are one reservation with one driver, quoted in advance, instead of three improvised rides.

It is the reason to book us rather than drive. Tell us at booking, we assign the Premium vehicle with the reclining seat and we plan additional margin for the crossing home.

Tijuana City Service

No. It covers movements inside Tijuana only. Crossing to San Ysidro or San Diego is a separate route fare, starting at $90 USD, and the two can be booked together.

Never. Every Cross Border Transport service is a private vehicle for your party. The published fare covers the patient plus one companion; additional passengers are quoted by dispatch.

For a scheduled appointment, the day before is comfortable. For unplanned trips, message dispatch on WhatsApp and we will tell you within minutes whether a unit is free.

Yes, any address inside the city. The service is used mostly for medical movements, but the fare is the same wherever inside Tijuana you need to go.

Pet-Friendly Transportation

Because the same vehicle carries post-operative and immunocompromised passengers. Pets travel on the dedicated pet-friendly service, which is scheduled with a deep clean afterwards.

By size, on top of the route fare: $35 USD small, $45 USD medium, $55 USD large. Tell dispatch the approximate weight when you book and we confirm the bracket before you pay.

Requirements change and they are the owner's responsibility. A veterinary health certificate is commonly requested in both directions. Check with the current authorities before your travel date; the driver cannot resolve a document problem at the gate.

Only if secured with a harness. Loose animals are not permitted, for the safety of the pet, the passengers and the driver.

Hotel Transfers

At the lobby door, and the driver asks for you at reception if you are not already waiting. Give us the reservation name when you book.

Yes. Hotel concierges book with our dispatch regularly. The confirmation goes to the hotel and to you.

Tell dispatch and we will schedule the pickup for the time that suits the flight, not the check-out. Most hotels will hold luggage in between.

Yes, anywhere in the county at the published San Diego fare — Mission Valley, Old Town, the airport hotels, Chula Vista and San Ysidro included.

Bariatric Surgery Transportation

That is your surgeon's call, not ours. Most bariatric patients are discharged three to five days after the procedure and cross the same day. Tell us the discharge date when you book and we will hold the window.

Yes, with balance, the seat belt, luggage and a walker. Our drivers are not medical staff and cannot lift a patient who cannot bear their own weight; if you need stretcher transport, say so when you book.

No, and it is exactly the kind of thing to mention at booking. We prepare the seat, plan a gentler route and give you more time at both ends.

In our experience it is the single best thing a bariatric patient can add. Sitting still in a queue with a fresh abdominal incision is the worst part of the trip, and the pass turns hours into minutes.

Stem Cell Therapy Transportation

Yes, and it is the cheapest and calmest way to do it. Send dispatch the schedule your clinic gave you and we confirm every movement in one quote.

Most patients do. Even when the session itself is short, the combination of an unfamiliar city, a fixed hour and feeling drained afterwards is exactly what this service exists for.

Whenever the schedule allows, yes, and most passengers prefer it. Dispatch tries to keep continuity across a multi-day stay.

Yes. List every stop when you book and it is planned as one chain with one driver, instead of separate improvised rides.

Rhinoplasty & Plastic Surgery Transportation

Most plastic surgery patients move from the clinic to a recovery house the same day, and cross back after five to seven days. Your surgeon sets the date; we hold the window.

Yes, and we do it by default for facial surgery. Tell dispatch at booking and the climate is set and the shades are down before you get in.

Mention both when you book. We prepare the seat, allow extra time at each end and choose a gentler route.

Yes. Swelling, packing and heat are a bad combination, and the northbound queue is where all three meet. The pass is included in Premium Medical Transportation.
